About RandomKandy
RandomKandy is my creative dreamland.
Yes - it’s a place. A wonderful place! It’s colourful, joyful, and free of gravity. A place with no rules or boundaries - a special home for strange folk like me (and maybe you too!) to let our creative monkeys run wild.
RandomCandy was born in 2011, dreamed up by yours truly, Elrene van Staden, in memory of 9-year-old me - the little girl who wrote and illustrated children’s books, then rented them out to classmates for 50c, all for the love of “Snoepie Geld” (Candy-Cash). In 2024, the name grew into RandomKandy, because - let’s be honest - this is no candy shop. But fear not: the stories here will melt your heart like marshmallows over a fire, and the colours - oh, the colours - are inspired by Smarties and Jelly Babies themselves.
